Have questions before you book? I’ve answered some of the most common questions about face painting, glitter tattoos, booking, and what to expect so you can feel confident and prepared for your event.
Booking and Pricing
1. How far in advance should I book?
I recommend booking as early as possible, especially for weekends and popular party dates.
Dates can fill quickly, so securing your date early is the best way to ensure availability.
2. How many faces can you paint per hour?
I can typically paint 12-14 children per hour, depending on the complexity of the designs.
3. What happens if I have more guests than originally expected?
No problem! I’ll do my best to accommodate them within the time available.
For larger increases in guest count, additional time may be recommended.
4. Do you travel to my location?
I travel throughout Morris, Warren and Sussex county.
5. Is there a travel fee?
Travel fees may apply depending on the event location.
Any applicable travel fee will be discussed with you before booking so there are no surprises.
6. How do I officially secure my date?
Once we’ve agreed on the details, you’ll receive a booking agreement to review and sign.
Your date is officially secured once the signed agreement and required payment are received.
7. What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept cash, Venmo, Zelle, and online payments. Organizations that use a purchase order system may also pay by check.
8. What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
I understand that plans can change! I’m happy to work with you to reschedule your booking when possible.
If I’m unavailable for the new date or you need to cancel, your retainer is refundable with reasonable notice;
cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event are non-refundable.
9. Do you have a minimum booking time?
For locations within my local service area, there’s no minimum booking time.
For events farther away, a 2-hour minimum helps make travel time worthwhile while giving you plenty of time to enjoy the experience!
Face Painting and Glitter Tattoos
1. What age is appropriate for face painting / glitter tattoos?
I typically recommend face painting and glitter tattoos for children ages 3 and up.
2. Can you accommodate a specific party theme?
Absolutely! Whether it’s a favorite character, color scheme, or holiday theme,
I can help create designs that coordinate with your celebration.
3. Do you bring a design board for the kids to choose from?
Yes! I bring a design board with a variety of options so kids can easily choose something they love.
It also helps keep the line moving efficiently.
4. What if my child is nervous about getting their face painted?
That’s completely okay! I never pressure a child to participate and will give them time to warm up, watch other children, or choose a smaller design if they feel more comfortable.
5. How do you remove face paint?
Most face paint can be easily removed with soap and warm water. For stubborn areas, a gentle cleanser or makeup remover can help.
6. Can face paint get wet?
Excessive water, rubbing, or sweating can cause face paint to fade or smudge.
I recommend avoiding swimming or activities where the face will be repeatedly splashed if you want the design to last.
7. How long do glitter tattoos last?
Glitter tattoos typically last several days, depending on placement, skin type, and how much rubbing or water exposure they receive.
8. Can you paint adults and teenagers too?
Absolutely!
Safety and Hygiene
1. What type of products do you use?
I use professional, cosmetic-grade face paints and products specifically designed for use on the skin.
I carefully select products with children's safety and comfort in mind.
2. How do you clean your brushes between children?
Keeping things clean is a top priority at every event. I use a three-cup brush-washing system to thoroughly clean each brush between children, never double-dip brushes into paint, and use a fresh sponge for every child.
These practices help ensure a clean and hygienic experience from the first face to the last.
3. What do you do if a child has sensitive skin or allergies?
Please let me know about any known allergies or skin sensitivities before painting. While I use skin-safe products, I cannot guarantee that a product will be suitable for every child, so I may recommend skipping face painting if there is a concern.
4. What happens if my child experiences irritation?
If a child experiences any irritation or discomfort, I will stop painting immediately and gently remove the product. Parents should always let me know about known allergies or sensitivities before I begin.
Event Logistics
1. How much space do you need to set up?
I only need a small, dedicated area for my kit, chair, and supplies.
2. Do you need access to electricity or water?
No electricity is required. I bring the water and supplies needed for face painting, so you don't need to provide them.
3. What happens if it rains or the weather is too hot?
Extreme heat, wind, or precipitation can affect both the paint and the comfort of the children,
so we’ll work together to make sure the setup is suitable.
