On weekdays, I'm an MRI/CT technologist.

On weekends, I'm a self-taught face painter.

How did that happen?

 

Well, I've been creating as far back as I can remember. I loved to draw comics, cartoons and graffiti as a kid...but as I got older, art gradually took a backseat, and I started spending more time on other passions -- language learning being a major one.

 

After graduating college, I dedicated myself fully to my work and found myself spending more time thinking about career advancement and not so much about what I actually enjoyed doing in my leisure. Then COVID hit...and the burnout was real! I needed to get back to having a creative outlet...something that could provide a mental escape. So, I took pottery lessons for over a year, and I enjoyed it tremendously (enough to buy my own wheel)! Unfortunately, after becoming a mom, I no longer had the time to dedicate to it.

So, where does face paint come in? Well, my mother and I are both very creative individuals. Believe it or not, face painting was originally her idea! But after a few trial runs, she decided that painting was not her forte. So I decided to give it a shot and it turned out that I was quite a natural with a paintbrush. My mom gave me all of her brushes and paints...and I took it and ran with it, turning my newly established hobby into a full-fledged side hustle.

After just two short months of practicing at home, I signed up for several vendor events and painted throughout the summer, fall, and winter seasons of 2024. I fell in love with the business and immediately got to work on networking, building a brand, and getting my name out into the community.

Fast forward to present day - Fabulyss Faces is still growing but I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful kiddos and parents that I've met along the way who have supported my business. I only hope to maximize my skillset even further so I can offer the best service, create my best art, and also create fabulyss memories for every little one and their families!
