Hey there! My name's Alyssa..

By day, I work in radiology as an MRI/CT technologist...but by night (and weekend), I'm a self-taught face painter. How did I get into this, you ask? Well, I've always been a creative. As a kid, I loved to make my own comics and draw all sorts of cartoons and graffiti art. As I got older though, I stopped focusing on art and spent more time on other passions, like language learning and advancing in my career. However, like many others during COVID, I found myself desperately needing a new hobby. I wanted to get back to having a creative outlet...something that could provide a mental escape and also help to eliminate burnout from work. I took pottery lessons for over a year and enjoyed it tremendously (enough to buy my own wheel)! However, after becoming a mom, I no longer had the time to dedicate to it.

My mother and I are both very creative individuals. Believe it or not, face painting was originally her idea! But after a few trial runs, she decided that painting was not her forte...so I decided to give it a shot. It turned out that I was quite a natural with a paintbrush...and I very much enjoyed painting fun, cartoonish designs. So, my mom gave me all of her tools and supplies...and I took it and ran with it, turning my newly established hobby into a full-fledged side hustle.

After just two short months of practicing at home, I signed up for several vendor events throughout the 2024 summer, fall, and winter seasons and offered face painting services to all attendees. I fell in love with the business and immediately got to work on networking, building a brand, and getting my name out into the community.

Fabulyss Faces is still growing...but I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful kiddos and parents that I've met along the way who have supported my business. I only hope to maximize my skillset even further so I can offer the best service, create my best art, and also create fabulyss memories for every kiddo and their families!
